In this study, we analyzed potential associations of weather and temperature with the occurrence of emergency room visits for psychiatric patients. We found a significant association between number of patients in the emergency room and the number of days with different cloudiness, windiness, and temperature. Further, we found a strong association with lower number of patients on cold days. Although replication of our findings is required, our findings suggest that weather and temperature influence the number of psychiatric patients consulting the emergency room. The associations found in our study might be a reflection of the mental health status of the patients as well as of psychiatric health care generally.
Some considerations arise when using the results of our study. First, we used an ecological study design, which is an appropriate method to investigate relationships between health and the environment at a population level. Such studies have the disadvantage that their results might be indicative for a general population (e.g., younger adults, which were not included in our study) and cannot be directly attributed to the group of patients presenting to the emergency room. Second, we were only able to include data for one emergency room. Thus, the generalizability of our results is low and replication in a different geographic region is required.
The results of this study suggest that weather and temperature influence the number of psychiatric patients presenting to the emergency room. Our results indicate that higher cloudiness, windiness, and temperature increase the number of patients presenting to the emergency room. Therefore, our results suggest that the weather and temperature may have an influence on the health of psychiatric patients. The results of our study indicate that interventions such as mental health or weather services could be available to those who could benefit from them, for example, to improve their mental health, to provide them with an increased awareness for the influence of their environment, and/or to provide information about the weather and temperature. The results of our study will help clinicians to understand the complex interplay between climate and mental health in order to provide the right help for the right patient and situation.
If another hacker does this, then they will be able to put any game on the ps3 in a matter of minutes! and that means that Sony will be out of the console market for good. We have seen what happens when sony doesn't support games anymore. Nintendo is turning a profit, now it is time for Sony to do the same, or else they are dead.
I don't see the appeal of owning a Sony PS3, and I don't see the value of the PS3 as an entertainment device. Sony has become one of the most untrustworthy companies in the gaming industry in my eyes. 827ec27edc
