During development on Resident Evil 4, Capcom decided to redesign the dog's character model in order to streamline the game design for the PlayStation 2. The decision was made, according to the remakes' designer, Tetsuya Mizuguchi, because in the original, the dog's character model was a bit too "expensive" when compared to the other models in the game. So Capcom optimized the model to allow it to fit in with the other models on the PS2. Despite this streamlined design change, the puppy's mother -- a wolf -- will still rear its head in Leon's inventory screen.
There's also the fact that the dog has its own mission in Resident Evil 4: find the Master Chief. This hints at the fact that there could be something going on there. Essentially, gamers can either be happy that the mission will be featured in the remake, or get frustrated. But after the release of Resident Evil 4 coming out of hiatus on the PlayStation 3, fans probably aren't too concerned. The game lives up to expectations, and it's another installment that fans shouldn't skip out on.
Leon and Ada's relationship will remain a favorite among fans, given how it intertwines into the plot of the remake. Leon and Ada's relationship in RE4 is developed in somewhat of a slower fashion than it is in RE5. In the remake, Leon and Ada will be able to build on the relationship they forged together in the former.
There will also be an interesting new addition to the Resident Evil series; namely, the Resident Evil gameplay elements. In the original RE4, you played as Leon S Kennedy, a rookie cop. However, the remake introduces a story arc on the part of Leon's rookie partner, Claire Redfield. Claire and Leon will be fighting off a nearby anti-government group known as the Fortune Hunters. But besides the increased narrative focus under the remake's title, the series' well-loved gameplay elements will also remain in its new adaption. d2c66b5586
