There are a few theories about how the films like but the Pixar Theory is the most popular. The basic idea is The Good Dinosaur sets up the universe. An asteroid narrowly misses Earth and the dinosaurs survive. Earth is then controlled by dinosaurs, then humans, then machines and then intelligent animals. The films build on each era in the timeline.
The Pixar Ball appeared in almost every early Pixar film from 1995's Toy Story to 2009's Up, but the scavenger hunt doesn't end there. The famous bouncy ball can be found in most films from the 2010s when the filmmakers decided to start getting creative with its appearance.
Pixar kicked off the new decade with a threequel to its most classic film: Toy Story. Toy Story 3 premiered in June 2010 and not only featured the Luxo ball in ball form but in another creative way.
Much comedy will now ensue.... :-) Sylvain ComeauMarch 18, 2010 at 9:18 AM · Unlike some, I actually enjoyed MILF, but this one is no contest. T2:3D is much more thrilling and exciting, despite its age. Nice mix of 3D with live action, and a very entertaining, Big Brotherish pre-show. 199.249.176.251March 18, 2010 at 9:25 AM · It's like comparing an airliner to a one-engine plane. The Laugh Floor is acceptable and generates a few laughs, but it's forgettable. Terminator 3D is one of the best attractions at Universal and a technological marvel. Joshua CounsilMarch 18, 2010 at 10:18 AM · I almost want to give this one to the latter just because of its acronym. However, T2: 3D is probably the best show in this category, so the MILF has gotta go. Tyler BellMarch 18, 2010 at 10:48 AM · Terminator gives more of an expirence Anthony MurphyMarch 18, 2010 at 11:10 AM · Late to the party :(Would have voted for Laugh Floor! The interactivity of it is great!Still, T2 is a sold attraction! Manny BarronMarch 18, 2010 at 12:40 PM · T2-3D is the best in this category and should defeat a couple of more shows in its run. Monsters inc is ok but not really a top attraction. This article has been archived and is no longer accepting comments.
Parents need to know that Monsters, Inc. is about closet monsters, but from their point of view -- scaring kids is their 9-to-5 job. Kids might be scared of the movie's concept initially, but they'll soon figure out that the monster Sulley is a softy who takes care of the little girl in the story who isn't the least bit afraid of him. However there's one scene where a monster the child does fear straps her to a chair and tries to steal her screams. Kids will find it funny that most monsters fear any contact with kids -- when one monster gets a child's sock on him the whole factory panics and biohazard workers quarantine and shave him. Young kids may need help understanding what the monsters in yellow suits are doing to him and why. Note: The 3-D version amps up the intensity.
I've read some complaints from fanboys that the monsters in "Monsters" aren't monstrous enough. You don't hear any complaints about Godzilla, Mothra or the clicking grasshoppers in "District 9," but let a filmmaker dare to imagine a truly alien lifeform, and it's whine, whine, whine. So let me say that "Monsters" is a rather special achievement. Think of it as a movie that M. Night Shyamalan (and we) would be happy he made. It's based on characters, relationships, fear and mostly unseen menace, and although the movie's special effects are important, it's not about special effects.
I recently came across a collection of covers from a 1950s comic book named Tales to Astonish! Each issue featured a different low-rent monster ("Mummex," "Droom," "Titano," "Vandoom," "Roombu"). The most intriguing was "X," described as THE THING THAT LIVED!! The monsters invariably towered high above puny humans who were running for their lives in the foreground. The Beings in "Monsters" tower above humans, but that's not because they're giant versions of B-movie cliches. It's because they are different in structure and nature from the lifeforms on Earth.
