Chief Minister’s relief fund of Odisha is also known as Government of Odisha Relief Fund (GORF). The fund was designed to provide relief and rehabilitation to the people affected by natural disasters like floods, fire accident, tsunami, earthquake, landslides, cyclone and other similar calamities. The fund is maintained in a separate account under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, as an account under the Public Disbursement and General Fund in the State Treasury. The Chief Minister’s relief fund is provided with the budget allocation for the financial year. Every year, the Government of Odisha spends a part of its budget for the relief and rehabilitation, and provide financial assistance to the people in need by way of providing financial assistance in cash to the victim of the natural disaster and providing medical assistance to the injured people. The Government of Odisha is also providing financial assistance for the treatment of the people affected by the natural calamities like earthquakes, cyclone, floods and others. The Govt. of Odisha provides financial assistance to the victims for the treatment of various diseases like Cancer, Cardiac, Kidney transplant, Brain Tumor, Liver and Multi Organ failure etc.
The Government of Odisha is also providing financial assistance to the victims of the recent heavy rains and flood in Odisha. The Govt. of Odisha has provided financial assistance in the form of cash to the victims of the recent heavy rains and floods.
Govt. of Odisha and Home Minister, Govt. of India have provided over Rs. 47.09 crores as financial assistance to the affected people in relief and rehabilitation. During this year, Govt. of Odisha has provided Rs. 37.90 crores as financial assistance for the treatment of the victims of the recent floods. The Govt. of India has also pledged Rs. 10 crores for flood affected people in Odisha. The Govt. of Odisha has also provided Rs. 52.9 lakh for relief and rehabilitation of the victims of recent heavy rains at different places in Odisha. The Govt. of Odisha has distributed Rs. 37.90 crores as financial assistance for the treatment of the victims of the recent floods.
